Along with Ultimate X and Lethal Lockdown, the King of the Mountain Match is a part of the big three of TNA. Between 2004-2009, the King Of The Mountain was an integral part of TNA's anniversary show, Slammiversary. This "reverse ladder match" started with 5 men, one of which is the champion, this match was about being able to endure. The final objective was to climb to the top rung of the ladder and hang the championship belt to win the match. However, first a wrestler must qualify to do be able to hang the belt. To qualify one would have to pin or submit one of the four other wrestler. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0Tqc24SS-4 If you were able to do that, not only would you qualify to hang the belt but your opponent would have to sit in the penalty box for two minutes freeing the qualifying wrestlers to attempt to hang the belt. This match was pretty much a race to pin or submit your opponents and then an even more frantic race to the top of the ladder. When compared to Jeff Jarrett at least there was once a King Of The Mountain that actually worthy of the name.
