10 Over-Hyped Wrestling Main Events NOBODY Even Remembers Now

2. Five-Pack Challenge (WWE Vengeance: Night Of Champions)

On June 24th 2007 at WWE Vengeance: Night Of Champions, John Cena defeated four opponents in a Five-Pack Challenge that went just 10 minutes and contained a truly bizarre array of talent.

Rising singles star Bobby Lashley fresh off a big WrestleMania match involving Vince McMahon, a King Booker character with half a crown out of the door, perpetual company Number Two Randy Orton and an out-of-retirement Mick Foley were thrown into the one-fall-to-a-finish shootout for no other reason beyond the fact that it might just be weird enough to work.

24 hours later and nobody would think to check again. Rather than opening Raw with a promo from 'The Champ' celebrating his win or one of the contenders chasing a rematch, Vince McMahon solemnly confirmed the news that Chris, Nancy and Daniel Benoit had all passed away. Unaware of the nature of their deaths, McMahon elected instead to immediately bin off the stupid storyline featuring his character's passing and explain that the show would be a (since-removed) tribute special.

Nothing in kayfabe remotely mattered, nor could it - including John Cena, his WWE Championship or his latest unique defence.
