10 Most Overrated Wrestlers Of All Time

10. Rey Mysterio

If the Cruiserweights were still in existence, there is little doubt Rey would have already secured his legacy as the greatest wrestler to have ever competed in that division. However, for one reason or another they aren't, meaning the likes of Mysterio had to find another slot on the card. Putting a man the size of Mysterio in with the heavyweights was a ballsy move by WWE and one that seemed to pay off for them, especially in merchandise sales. Despite this, there are sections of the WWE Universe who got fed up of Rey winning against men he had no right to be doing so. In general, the main accusation levelled at wrestling fans is for liking it despite its predetermined nature. Now, obviously, this is entertainment and the fact we should expect the unexpected is one of the great things about wrestling. The fact the biggest underdog arguably in WWE history was the top guy had its appeal, but there are many who want wrestling to have a hint of believability and realism to it and to have Mysterio continuously beating men literally twice the size of him, in the likes of Kane and The Big Show, didn't make sense. Brock Lesnar proved at SummerSlam that we like to see a complete and utter mauling from time-to-time and many would have loved to see Rey meet his maker during his three runs as either WWE Champion or World Heavyweight Champion. Mysterio is a two-time Intercontinental Champion and logic suggests that for a man of his stature, with his skill set, this should have been the limit. Let me reiterate, Mytsterio will go down as one of, if not the, greatest Lucha Libre's of all time. A wrestling show needs matches like Rey's, just not at the end.
