Paige's best main roster match to date may very well have come on the 6 January 2015 episode of WWE Main Event, where she battled Nikki Bella in one-on-one action.

For all of the criticisms Bella found herself on the receiving end of, she had developed into quite the professional wrestler by the time the new year arrived, showing a particular knack for creating drama through signature moves and false finishes.

Paige, meanwhile, was coming off of a year in which she became the centerpiece of women's wrestling in WWE. She very much was part of the biggest matches, storylines, and rivalries, and looked to be the face of a division that was rapidly improving. To kick off the year on the right foot, she would have to defeat the one woman who always seemed to get the best of her and, even worse, represented the Total Divas mindset that she hated so much.

At least at that point.

Nikki worked both the arm and the back of her opponent, forcing her to combat two different ailments if she wished to emerge victorious. Paige fought back, beginning with a stubborn refusal to keep Bella from fully applying an armbar. From there, she capitalized on a distraction at ringside, blasted Nikki with a superkick, and delivered the Ram-Paige for the win.

Is it a flawless match? No, but few are. There were timing issues at the end but still, it was a hellishly wrestled match by two women determined to prove that they could work a long, ten-plus-minute match and do so to great success.
