10 Paige Matches That Prove WWE Has Misused Her In Women's Revolution
6. Paige Vs. AJ Lee Vs. Nikki Bella - WWE Night Of Champions 2014
The true sign of a great worker is his or her ability to adapt their styles to that of their opposition while simultaneously playing their role in any match, featuring any gimmick, to the best of their abilities.
Triple threat matches are difficult to put together because everyone has to get their signature stuff in while adding in other convoluted spots. Of course, those spots have to come off as naturally as possible so to keep it believable. The result is often a hodgepodge of moves, spots, and false finishes that make for an underwhelming finished result.
That was not the case at Night of Champions in September 2014 when Paige battled Nikki Bella and AJ Lee in the popular match type. The three styles of the women, though different, meshed well. The spots never came across as too rehearsed or choreographed and the result was a really strong match that highlighted each individual woman perfectly.
AJ was the star, her momentum in the second-half of the year unwavering. Nikki continued to look more and more like a competent wrestler, surprising the audience with just how much she had developed from an in-ring perspective in the months that preceded the contest. Then there was Paige, who proved herself adaptable.
A veteran worker, she helped to craft a match that played to the strengths of the participants and the result was yet another shining example of a young woman overcoming questionable booking to prove herself an immensely talented professional wrestler.
