A token part-timer is what Hulk Hogan would become in WWE before heading to WCW in 1994. Well, sort of. Thy tried to put him out to pasture, put it that way.

The Ultimate Warrior's crowning at WrestleMania VI was supposed to be a watershed moment for Hulk, and it happened four years before he'd be in Atlanta. The truth is that Warrior couldn't handle the gig as head boy, and that became apparent when the promotion called on Hogan to help prop up SummerSlam 1990 just four months later.

Still, 'Mania VI came with good intentions. That, in Vince McMahon's mind, was the end of Hulkamania and the dawn of a new era. The 90s had begun, and so had his push to replace Hulk with another megastar who could carry him through the decade. Again, Warrior wasn't that man.

Although Hogan did sorta' steal the guy's spotlight by handing him the belt with puppy-dog eyes and returning so soon, he did everything bell-to-bell during the match itself to make Warrior look like his successor. Hulk can be blamed for a lot of things, but Warrior ultimately (ahem) flopping isn't one of them.
