10 Most Patriotic American WWE Stars Ever

8. The Patriot

WWE.comWWE.comWhen The Patriot was brought into WWE in 1997 it was because they needed somebody to fill the role as a proud American that can feud with and lose to Bret Hart. At the time, Hart was an anti-American heel that did promos ripping on the US all the time. They really didn't have a lot of great face options for him to beat, so they brought in The Patriot, who most fans knew from his WCW days. He wrestled in a mask and brought the US flag with him everywhere he went. Once the feud with Hart was over, there really wasn't a lot for him to do. He ended up getting released in 1998 after getting hurt and they never used him again. The Patriot had more success in WCW than he did in WWE because he did win the tag team titles with Marcus "Buff" Bagwell while there. What's noteworthy about him is that his song in WWE was the one that would later be given to Kurt Angle.
