7. "The All-American American" And "Real American" Jack Swagger
WWE.comWhen Jack Swagger debuted in WWE in the mid-2000s, he was pushed hard as an American. His nickname was the "All-American American" as WWE tried to make up stories about all the great accomplishments he had in his career prior to WWE. He was an accomplished amateur wrestler, but it wasn't as significant as WWE was telling people on their TV shows. Swagger also had a silly American themed gimmick when he had the "Swagger Soaring Eagle" accompany him to ringside all the time. The bald eagle is representative of America, so that's why they gave it to Swagger. It was really just Chavo Guerrero in a ridiculous outfit. For more than a year now, Swagger has been managed by Zeb Colter, who is a war veteran that always talks about how much he loves America. He would also do promos about wanting to deport people that were in America. Now that he's a face that will probably stop, but it was an effective way to generate heat. He could thrive as a babyface American hero type character. The heel thing has run its course, but he might have success in this role because the fans will definitely be behind him.
