Okay, despite the pretty awful execution of WWE’s early pay-per-view attempts at online fan booking, there is a solid idea behind it. The problem is that in the past, they heavily, heavily guided the audience on-air for exactly who they should vote for, and what stipulation the matches should have. That takes away a lot of the fun. Once a year, the company should truly leave things up the audience, and let the randomness and the weirdness of the votes stand, and no matter what, just go with it.

If the Intercontinental Title challenger is up for popular vote and Epico wins in a landslide as a joke, let it be. If fans cast their ballot for John Cena to battle Luke Harper in an Erick Rowan on a pole match, give it a shot. If nothing else, it’s something new. The company relies so heavily on the same people, fighting the same people, ad nauseum, that they badly need to be shaken up now and then. Make that night Cyber Sunday.

Yes, right now, there are more trolls online ready to gleefully rig the system than ever before. But so what? Let the show have its own distinct feel where anything truly can happen. If it creates an unlovable ugly mess, well, they still have like 15 other pay-per-views a year to make up for it.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
