10 People In Wrestling That Still Hold A Grudge Against CM Punk

1. The Miz

Earlier this year, The Miz was a guest on WWE Backstage in an episode sans Punk, during which he joked “Sorry, sorry I didn’t change the culture”. It was an obvious quip on Punk stating when he first debuted as an analyst for Backstage, “It’s as simple as this: Just when they think they’ve got the answers, I change the culture.”

Punk immediately took to Twitter and didn’t hold back with ‘Go suck a blood money covered d*ck in Saudi Arabia you f*cking dork.”

Punk quickly deleted it but it didn’t matter, as screenshots ran rampant online. It was bizarre, especially considering Punk had only recently advised Seth Rollins to avoid tweeting regrettable words in the heat of the moment.

Punk’s tweet was twofold: it took a malicious shot at The Miz, but also WWE’s controversial deal with Saudi Arabia, a relationship which has drew a lot of scrutiny after the assassination of a Saudi-based journalist for The Washington Post.

It’s unclear where the heat for Miz comes from with Punk, with many believing it stems from Miz headlining WrestleMania above him at WrestleMania XXVII. Punk said at the time:

“I was miserable. I was coming to work every day and I was like, 'This is ridiculous. I'm seeing all this stuff. Miz is the main event of WrestleMania. What is wrong with this world? Okay, I gave it all. Miz knows exactly how I feel. I've told him about it… I think Miz doesn't know how to deal with that. It's just my brutal honesty. I think you got to just let it roll of your back or you get confrontational about it. I was strictly basing it on the fact that I was the best bad guy. In my world, the best bad guy wrestles the best good guy. I was specifically told, 'Hey, leading up to WrestleMania we don't really know what you're going to do yet but you're going to be John Cena's little TV feud.' I was like, 'I'm nobody's TV feud. That's !*$%.' They just continued to piss me off."

Miz was recently asked about Punk’s tweet and why Punk still holds heavy animosity towards him, commenting:

“I have no idea to be honest with you. Like, I still to this day have no idea. To be honest, I thought we were friends. And it’s just like one of those things where you’re like, ‘God, man.’ I don’t know. I just don’t know, like I really don’t. I wish I could answer any of the questions that you would have about that, but I honestly, I don’t know. I don’t get it. I don’t get him. People were still talking like I didn’t deserve to be in that spot, ‘I should’ve been in that spot!’ ‘Blah blah blah!’ Let’s put it this way, there was no one that generated more heat, more bad guy oriented couldn’t-stand-you type of heat, if you will, than me, at that moment.”
