10 People Who Had No Business In Professional Wrestling

5. David Flair

Ric Flair is one of the most charismatic wrestlers of all-time. He€™s also one of the best in-ring performers to ever compete in a wrestling ring. His daughter Charlotte is showing some of the traits that he possessed, however, the same cannot be said for her older brother David.

Simply put, if David Flair was not Ric€™s son he would have never made it into the major leagues of professional wrestling. He€™d be fine at your local indy show, but even then you would have forgot about him at the end of the night. David simply had nothing going for him. He was awkward in the ring, awkward on the mic and... actually yeah, that pretty much sums it up.

Despite any lack of talent, he made it into WCW and was introduced as part of a major storyline involving his father, Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash. Afterwards, the company did de-push him a bit, but he remained employed and even captured the United States Title and the Tag Team Titles.

When WCW went under, Flair was not brought in as part of the Invasion angle, and was sent to developmental instead later, likely as a favor to his father. He had one main roster match (a squash against The Undertaker) before he was let go. By all accounts David is a nice guy, but simply didn€™t possess a fraction of the skills that his father did to make wrestling a viable career.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
