10 PG Wrestling Feuds That Felt Like The Attitude Era

10. John Cena vs. The Rock

As much as you may have despised the feud during its lowest points, there's no ignoring the fact that it resulted in the biggest WrestleMania buy rate ever in 2012. Most of the hype for their first match consisted of The Rock and John Cena resorting to juvenile insults to get a roar from the crowd. If social media was around during the Attitude Era, one can only imagine the trash talking that would have gone down between Rock and his arch rival Stone cold Steve Austin. That aside, the personal hated the two former champs had for one another was transparent and was what made the feud feel as real as it did. Far too often in wrestling rivalries feel contrived, or originate from something ridiculous (a shampoo commercial, anyone?). The Attitude Era featured its fair share of stupidity, but the feuds resonated with the fans because they were intimidating and in your face (sometimes literally). Both believing they were the best of their respective generation, Rock and Cena settled the score in a matchup on the grandest stage of them all, and even if it wasn't a mat classic, you were anxious to see who would come out on top and solidify their superiority.
