10 Phrases Guaranteed To Anger Most Wrestling Fans

7. "Fingerpoke Of Doom"

A phrase that's become synonymous with the start of WCW's undoing, the Fingerpoke of Doom featured two of the company's biggest stars - and supposed enemies - basically giving the middle finger to wrestling tradition with current WCW Champion Kevin Nash quite literally laying down for his old buddy, Hulk Hogan.

It was a swerve that left a lingering stench over the company, and is widely considered the first in a long line of questionable decisions that would ultimately be blamed for WCW closing up shop.

On the surface, though, it was a decent heel tactic. After all, what better way to prove one's villainy than treating the biggest prize in the company like a toy that could be traded like a Pokemon card? And if you weren't too invested in the storylines that preceded or succeeded this, it was worth a good laugh or two.

But many fans viewed this as a slight to Goldberg, whoses long-running undefeated streak was ended at the hands of Nash the week before. Nothing particularly worthwhile came of the Poke from a storyline standpoint, either. The nWo reunited to little fanfare, and without any logical explanation for the end of Hogan and Nash's extensive feud.

There was no big return on this silly investment - just shenanigans for the sake of shenanigans.
