Kurt Angle, Daniel Bryan, Mr. Perfect, Macho Man Randy Savage and Mick Foley.

'Five Stars Lars' wasn't a particularly great pro wrestler, though he played the athletic behemoth with a bit of presence well enough opposite the correct opponent. Opponent, singular: Oney Lorcan. Their 2017 NXT TV match was an awesome back-against-the-wall near-death experience, but Lars never evolved beyond squash specialist. He was however the fortunate beneficiary of a star rating system quirk.

He was the sixth man in an excellent six-way Ladder match at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans. The opener was a pulsating banger in which every man involved actively tried to win using their own distinctive character. As seamless as it was thrilling, Sullivan and his five opponents each bagged the famed ***** from Dave Meltzer.

This rating has eluded Angle, despite his electrifying intensity and sublime technique. Bryan, despite his total mastery of building a match around super-realistic strategy. Mr. Perfect, despite his incredible knack for big-bumping excitement. Savage, despite his unreal ability to perfect both technical wrasslin' and the quintessential drama of sports entertainment.

And Foley, despite his iconic ability to extract a new level of brilliance even from great performers.
