10 Popular Wrestling Debates That Need To Die

1. Wrestlers Must Look A Certain Way

Booker T just got himself some serious heat for suggesting that AEW's Adam Cole needs to pack on a bit more muscle. Several All Elite stars blasted the legend for his comments, and Renee Paquette even definitely stated: "Body shaming is the absolute sh*ts".

Quite.

It's important to look at things in a balanced way though. Book is entitled to his opinion, and he did work in a generation when wrestlers were expected to look a certain way (or, at least, had more pressure on them to be musclebound). Could Cole add muscle? Yes. Does he need to? Hell no - it's his body.

The idea that this is some old generation vs. new generation thing is rubbish too. Booker T wrestled on rosters with smaller guys in his prime, and it's hardly like everyone from the 1980s and 90s had rock hard abs or biceps bigger than boulders.

Wrestling is a variety show anyway. Cole is physically fit, happy and healthy. Surely, that matters more than his muscle measurements. He's hardly out of shape or a danger in-ring.
