10 Popular WWE Babyfaces Who Went To Another Level As Heels
1. Shawn Michaels
You'd have to go some to find a better heel turn than Shawn Michaels booting Marty Jannetty in the chops and then sending him through a barber shop window. That 1992 angle showed off a callous side to Michaels for the first time, and it birthed his 'Heartbreak Kid' heel persona.
He was a big deal instantly after that.
The obvious Jannetty feud was put on pause due to Marty's personal problems, but Shawn didn't suffer. If anything, he thrived by arrogantly strutting around the place and developing his new look. By the time Jannetty did return to resume the story, it was clear that Michaels was above it and destined for better things.
Shawn was so impressive in his new role that he was picked to challenge Bret Hart for the WWF Title at Survivor Series '92. He also became the heel of that era's Intercontinental Title division, and only continued to grow as a performer.
