10 Positive Signs Going Into WrestleMania 33
1. Bray Wyatt Is WWE Champion
This one pretty much explains itself, but after going into the last three WrestleManias with Triple H, Brock Lesnar, and Randy Orton as WWE Champion, it’s incredibly refreshing to know that Bray Wyatt is entering WrestleMania 33 with the most prestigious prize in sports entertainment.
Wyatt is like a modern day Mick Foley, a hairy, scary, slightly portly figure who can pull off surprisingly agile feats of athleticism in service of telling a good story. Before landing on SmackDown, he’d been wasting away in the gutters of a seemingly never-ending losing streak. Now that he’s WWE Champion, WrestleMania is likely to be as unpredictable as Wyatt himself, and whether he walks out of Orlando with the belt or not, The Eater of World will always be able to say he’s been to the top of the mountain.
It’s also a sign that WWE is willing to experiment with its so-called ‘top guys’, and can take a gamble with a non-traditional champion on the cusp of the company’s flagship PPV event.
And just imagine what his entrance will be like…
