10 Positives Heading Into WWE SummerSlam 2016
2. Brand Split
We’ve already touched upon the brand split a couple of times
in this article, but I think it’s noteworthy enough of a development to be
afforded a slide of its own.
Not only did the Draft provide us with the aforementioned fresh blood and new rivalries to look forward to, but it’s given each show a new lease of life in their own unique ways. From the writing, to the production, to the presentation, we’ve seen so many minor details changed that have made a significant difference to the overall quality.
And of course there’ve been the major changes too; not least the splitting of the roster, and the resultant increase in TV time that so many have received off the back of it. Now, we find ourselves with a card full of rivalries that each have a purpose, or some kind of meaning behind them. And I really doubt that would have been the case had the brands not been split into two.
Whether or not the two brands are really competing against one another, it certainly feels like that’s the case. Either way, as twee as it sounds, it’s the fans who are the winners in the end.
