7. Tommaso Ciampa

Despite the plethora of international and non-WWE talent involved in the classic, the safe money when it comes to a potential winner sits on those currently signed to WWE in one form or another.

It is therefore surprising that Tommaso Ciampa doesn't seem to be getting much coverage when it comes to speculating on a winner of the WWE Cruiserweight Classic.

Despite teaming mostly with Johnny Gargano on NXT, Ciampa has also been given the opportunity to show what he is capable in a number of singles bouts, including a much-lauded super-stiff match against current NXT Champion Samoa Joe.

It may be difficult to truly imagine Ciampa holding aloft the trophy at the climax of the tournament, but the man does have his own profile on WWE.com after all. That alone puts him in the running as a potential winner.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
