Since the Brand Split, SmackDown Live has become known as ‘The Land of Opportunity’, a subtle, kayfabe-friendly nod to the blue brand’s tendency to be more experimental with who it pushes as a top star. One of its most valuable opportunities came in the form of Talking Smack, a post-SmackDown talk show that allows Superstars to go somewhat off-book, speaking their minds rather than reading from scripts.

The show has led to some genuinely dramatic, hilarious, and admittedly awkward moments, but it has seen the creation of some surprising breakout stars in the form of The Miz, Alexa Bliss and Baron Corbin, who have all proved that they can cut a scathing promo without having their creative freedom restricted by stunted, robotic scripts.

Corbin is a cocky, nonchalant delight every time he appears on the show, and let’s not forget The Miz’s utterly brutal tirade against Daniel Bryan, which became one of the most talked about promos of 2016. Before the Brand Split, if you’d suggested that The Miz appearing on SmackDown’s post-show would be compulsory viewing, you’d have been laughed off the internet.

But, in 2017, Talking Smack is truly the most must-see talk show in WWE.
