Somehow Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega, arguably two of the best wrestlers of all time, have only faced off in singles action twice in their careers. The first of which was a routine match in PWG way back in 2009, far before Omega had reached his prime and Danielson had gained mainstream attention in WWE.
The second match delivered on the wildest expectations, when the 'American Dragon' made his AEW debut against the 'Belt Collector' in a 30-minute time limit draw. The Grand Slam match was incredible in its own right but allowed room for the competitors to have an even more mesmerizing bout in the future.
The now-Blackpool Combat Club member Danielson is set to return from injury himself this week, so once both men are ready and healthy it would be an obvious big-time matchup for AEW to promote. The potential for an Undisputed Elite versus BCC faction war and the multi-man matches that come with it is very tantalizing. The result of a failed attempt to take down Regal's gang of grapplers could also provide the spark for an eventual fracturing of the Elite.
