The Golden Lovers of Kota Ibushi and Kenny Omega have cruelly been kept apart from each other since the latter left New Japan to start All Elite Wrestling. Both men have gone on to be successful world champions in their respective promotions, but the two best friends reuniting again would be incredible.
Of course, fans would love to see the two reunite as a tag team but the pair could fight each other before the inevitable reconciliation. The former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions have terrific in-ring chemistry as partners, but it is arguably even better as foes. A feud between the pair could even be used as the eventual turning point for Omega to embrace his good side and become the ace of AEW once more.
The potential array of opponents for a reunited Golden Lovers tandem in AEW is abundant. A repeat of their 2018 clash with the Young Bucks would be on the cards but also dream opponents such as FTR, the Lucha Brothers, and reDRagon. A future cross-promotional event between AEW and New Japan would benefit from two of the best wrestlers in the world reuniting for a special occasion.
