10 Potentially Invalid Reasons You Still Watch WWE
6. False Hope
As fans of anything in entertainment, we have an ingrained need to feel a sense of hope and desire that things can get better. Perhaps it's a connection to certain superstars or members of the roster, a feeling of false loyalty to the company, or fond memories from our youth, but we desperately clasp on to a hope that our favourite superstars will flourish in the end.
It's also to WWE's credit that they are able to dangle enough narrative carrots to keep us on the hook. Leaning into online chatter about a certain underdog winning the Money in the Bank briefcase or what drastic changes may come following a draft. It may be the potential inclusion of NXT or the suggestion that the Raw after WrestleMania will be monumental. WWE managers to lure some fans into a sense of false hope that things within the company will improve resulting in their favourite aspects of the company being enhanced.
Ask yourself, how often do WWE deliver on something that gives you excitement and engagement in comparison to the amount of disappointment? If the former outweighs the latter for you, then that's fantastic. If it is the opposite, perhaps a change in your viewing habits may be to your benefit.
