10 Potentially Invalid Reasons You Still Watch WWE

7. Nostalgia

Bobby Lashley Goldberg
WWE

A large portion of today's viewing audience grew up with the booming video game series and the thriving Attitude Era.

This current generation of fans will have some connection to something overwhelmingly positive about WWE that is now a part of them, and will innately bond them with the product for a very long time. WWE may be catering its product to younger viewers at present, but a plethora of fans of a certain demographic - i.e. those that were young fans during the dazzling '80s flamboyance or the Attitude Era - will still have fond memories that make up a large part of their childhood. It makes it feel like it is a part of you in some way.

It is the reason why returning legends such as Goldberg, The Rock, or any other of the like will continue to draw ratings. Like many other factors, this will be a long-term detriment to the overall product, but it's no denying that fans in the arenas get a thrill out of chanting for their favourite older superstars and fan favourites of yesteryear. So, of course a small part of you is clinging onto a part of your childhood when you see past generations mixing with today's performers.

We remember what life used to be as WWE fans; the Attitude Era, our fondest memories. A false sense of loyalty runs deep.
