10 PPV Quality Wrestling Matches Given Away On Weekly Television In 2020

On paper, a Parking Lot Fight pitting Best Friends, Chuck Taylor and Trent, against Santana & Ortiz doesn't seem like it would make this list. Don't get me wrong; this match featured two great teams, but, by virtue of being in AEW's world-class tag division, neither duo has been able to find themselves in the title picture an extended period of time.

After this match, these teams may have put the entire tag division on notice. In early August, Best Friends managed to beat Santana & Ortiz, and The Inner Circle members retaliated by vandalizing the van that belonged to Sue, Trent's mother. This set up the Parking Lot Fight which turned out to be, arguably, the best main event AEW Dynamite has offered this year.

This was a hard-hitting match between two teams who were hellbent on not just winning, but punishing the opposition. Steel pipes and two-by-fours were used, Trent was powerbombed through a windshield, Orange Cassidy arrived from the boot of a car to hit Santana with a steel chain assisted Orange Punch, and Trent hit Ortiz with the Crunchy through plywood and into the bed of a truck to pick up the win.

This match was yet another feather in the cap of AEW's booking, proving once again that tag team wrestling can be the main event. Oh, and this bout also just so happens to be the only match on weekly television this year to receive a 5-star rating from The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer.
