The entire pro wrestling world leaned forward in their seats when news broke that Sting was finally coming to WWE in 2014. That had been on the cards since WCW snuffed it in 2001, but the Stinger had always steered clear of Vince McMahon's circus. Few, if any, manage to do that forever though.

IMPACT tried to make the most of Sting's departure by booking him in a 'Career vs. Title' match vs. Magnus on the 23 January episode of flagship show IMPACT Wrestling. The bout turned out to be a fun ride through some of the 'Icon's' greatest hits, but he was never realistically winning it.

The show went off-air with a shot of Sting laid out in the middle of the ring as Magnus, EC3 and Dixie Carter celebrated over his fallen body. There was an old-school vibe to the way the Stinger went out here - minimal fuss, a good match and doing the honours for TNA's rising star.

Top man.
