That's all this writer can say about the dire quality of the pic you see above. It's taken from the 10 April 1999 episode of Shotgun Saturday Night, and shows The Public Enemy selling as Matt and Jeff Hardy celebrate a DQ win. It's also criminally dark (grabbing footage from Shotgun ain't easy!), just like Enemy's prospects in the WWF.

To say they weren't welcomed by the roster would be a gross understatement. Johnny Grunge and Rocco Rock were literally beaten up by the APA on Sunday Night Heat, then ignored before losing to The Hardy Boyz (who weren't 'Team Xtreme' quite yet) on Z-list programming like Shotgun.

Their last match for the federation was taped on 30 March. By the time the clash with The Hardys aired, Public Enemy were already lining up independent dates and in talks with WCW about another run there. They'd never recapture their ECW magic outside Paul Heyman's cult-like organisation.
