As the old saying goes, if you love something, let it go. Whether that's a friend, a loved one, or even a devastating finishing manoeuvre that, for whatever reason, just isn't having the impact on your fellow wrestlers that it once was. No matter how many children might have caved each other's skulls in on the playground with it, sometimes you've just got to let go.

When moments like this arrive in a wrestler's career, there's normally a point of no return. Perhaps your body has let you down one time too many, or perhaps even outside forces have conspired to take the decision out of your hands. Either way when you know, you know.

Scanning even just the recent history of WWE shows us numerous examples of stars realising enough was enough with iconic moves and putting them to bed for good. Finishers, trademarks, special-occasion-heavy-hitters: nothing is beyond the reaches of Old Father Awkward.

Oh and no, Goldberg's Jackhammer isn't on this list but, if he ever watches back that Saudi Arabian catastrophe he might well be tempted to add it in soon.
