10 Predictions For The State Of Wrestling In 5 Years

3. Major Defections?

MJF Kiss The Ring
AEW

WWE critics whooped and hollered when Jon Moxley traded McMahon mediocrity for AEW in 2019, and they cheered when Chris Jericho defected from his cushy legends gig to become a banner signing. Would those same folks be so giddy if one of AEW's young bucks (maybe not literally) headed the other way?

The world will surely find out one day.

It's true that more WWE stars will eventually find their way to Camp Khan, but things also work the other way round. Someone will be the first AEW star to shock the world by leaving the upstart challenger and joining wrestling's more established juggernaut. It's bound to happen.

Imagine the scenes if MJF pulled a Lex Luger and traded Dynamite for NXT, or Luchasaurus decided that he'd rather Vince drooled all over this muscular frame by pushing him to the moon as Universal Champion. People would be stunned. They will be stunned.
