The Cruiserweight Classic tournament continues to rumble on down at Full Sail University, and it’s provided some of the most exciting TV wrestling of the year thus far. Athletes like Jack Gallagher, Kota Ibushi, and Gran Metalik have made the CWC must-watch television every single week, and fans have many more weeks of top tier action to look forward to prior to the tournament’s conclusion in September.

Cruiserweight wrestling looks set to remain a staple of WWE programming at a mainstream level too. Raw’s upcoming Cruiserweight division has been heavily-advertised since the split, and with momentum higher than ever, we can expect some familiar CWC faces to start showing up soon.

The likes of TJ Perkins, Cedric Alexander, and Akira Tozawa have allegedly already been offered WWE contracts, and there’s nothing keeping WWE immediately bringing in wrestlers like Alejandro Saez and Sean Maluta, who’ve already been eliminated.

The Cruiserweights are coming, and they’ll play a huge role. Raw has seen several big improvements in recent weeks, but there’s still a considerable chunk of filler on the show, and Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley desperately need something else to fill the gaps. What better way to do that than by utilising some of the most exciting wrestlers in the world plying their trade on the biggest stage of them all?
