10 Predictions For WWE In 2020

8. Daniel Bryan Will Retire From In-Ring Competition

Bryan recently vacated the WWE Intercontinental Championship after holding it for about a month, an event eerily reminiscent of last year, when he did the same with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. If rumors are true, Bryan’s in-ring career might actually be over, as his doctors think that the damage done to his body is too severe for him to continue wrestling.

WWE would be foolish to release Bryan or not use his star power in a different capacity. Even if he doesn’t wrestle for WWE anymore when/if he returns, there's a plethora of roles for him that would keep him popular and draw in those fans who love him more than anyone else.

These roles include: a babyface authority figure to mirror the Authority on RAW; a trainer in NXT or in the Performance Center, a WWE Ambassador, a commentator, or, most likely, a manager and mentor for a younger WWE Superstar. Think of the experience and knowledge that one of WWE’s current prospects for the future would gain if he/she had Daniel Bryan coaching and mentoring them.

As arguably the best technical wrestler in the world for many years, his knowledge of wrestling would be priceless information for anyone. That is why a non-wrestling role would be absolutely perfect for Bryan if he actually does have to retire from in-ring competition.
