10 Predictions For WWE SmackDown Superstar Shake-Up Tonight

9. Emma Replaces Alexa

Raw bolstered their women's division by acquiring Alexa Bliss and Mickie James last night. As a former champion, Bliss’ absence will be felt the most, but James was playing a key role as the group’s veteran gatekeeper. Fortunately, SD have Natalya to fill that position, but they’re still a villainess down, and that’s where Emma comes in.

It looked like WWE were setting Emma up for a program with Dana Brooke last night, but these things can change on an instant. The Shake-up will tear potential storylines apart by default, and those interactions with her former ally shouldn’t hold Emma back. Now that she has returned, moving to SmackDown probably gives her the best possible chance of success, and it’d be a smart acquisition for General Manager Daniel Bryan.

Emma is an underrated wrestler, and her pre-injury heel character was really starting to get over. If given an opportunity, she can absolutely fill the hole left by Alexa’s departure, and eventually become a major player in SD’s well-rounded division. It’s hard to see her supplanting Sasha Banks, Bayley, or Nia Jax as one of Raw’s protagonists, but there’s no reason she can’t succeed on Tuesday nights.
