10 Predictions For WWE Women's Wrestling In 2017

1. Charlotte Becomes A Franchise Player

Few wrestlers have improved more than Charlotte Flair in 2016. It wasn’t so long ago that the current Raw Women’s Champion was easily the Four Horsewomen’s sloppiest wrestler, and an awkward talker who was often swayed by negative crowd reactions.

Now, she’s one of the most compelling performers in the company. Charlotte has made great strides in all aspects of her performance, and Roadblock: End Of The Line showed her progression as a smoother, more technical worker. Moreover, none of WWE’s women have a stronger grasp of their character than Charlotte: she’s one of the company’s most effective heels, and a confident, authoritative presence on the microphone.

WWE are absolutely right to place her at the center of the division, and they’ll keep building around her in 2017. Whether they keep hot-shotting the title or not, Charlotte will spend the bulk of the year as champion, and she’ll be a cornerstone for as long as she’s under WWE contract. This will be the year Charlotte becomes the Women’s Revolution’s undisputed star, and a big draw in her own right.

It’d be hyperbole to suggest she’ll become as great as her father, but Charlotte can become the Revolution’s franchise player in 2017. She’s already more convincing than any of Raw’s male heels, and if she continues improving, there’s no reason why she can’t become one of WWE’s top three stars. 2016 saw her take every criticise levied towards her and prove every one of them wrong: 2017 will see her go one step farther, and become transcendent.
