10 Predictions For WWE Women's Wrestling In 2017

2. Sasha Banks Turns Heel

Now that Sasha Banks is outwith title contention, it’s time WWE put serious consideration into turning her heel. She did a fine job building popularity against Charlotte’s megalomania, but she’s going to struggle without such a compelling antagonist to work with. The Boss is about to go to war with Nia Jax, but her future is in the darkside, particularly if WWE wish to preserve her as a major asset.

Bayley is Raw’s most natural babyface, and an inherently likable underdog who’s almost impossible to jeer. For as long as Bayley’s around (and feuding with Charlotte), Sasha is going to have a difficult time staying relevant as a babyface. Besides, she’s always been more convincing as a heel wrestler anyway, and turning opens up the possibility of reuniting her old NXT feud with Bayley, which previously produced two of the best women’s matches in WWE history.

Sasha Banks talks like a heel, carries herself like a heel, and even looks like a heel. Fans have bought into her babyface character, but she’s far more compelling as a villain, and her turn would be absolutely huge. Let her tap into her old NXT character and adopt some of her idol Eddie Guerrero’s cheating ways, and Banks will be one of the most effective evildoers in the company - just let her get the Nia Jax feud out of the way first.
