10 Predictions For WWE Women's Wrestling In 2017

5. Nia Jax Gets The Gold

Nia Jax recently returned to WWE television after a brief absence, and she’s got her sights set on the wounded Sasha Banks. The Boss suffered some serious knee damage while wrestling Charlotte at Roadblock: End Of The Line, and Nia demonstrated that she has no qualms about exploiting this weakness if it works to her benefit. It looks like the duo’s feud will continue in the lead-up to the Royal Rumble, and it’s the clearest indication of WWE’s plans for Nia yet.

Sasha is one of the company’s most popular athletes, and WWE will use this to elevate Nia’s position. Jax is still finding her feet on the main roster, but she looked fantastic at Survivor Series, and she can play a major part in the division if she keeps sharpening her skills. No one else can match her imposing size and strength, and if she works well against Sasha, she’s going to find herself at the top of the pile sooner rather than later.

WWE are likely to push Jax regardless, though. Vince McMahon loves a monster, and the company can only run Bayley, Charlotte, and Sasha into one another before it starts getting stale. As soon as a babyface takes control of the belt, look for Nia Jax to make an immediate title challenge, and if WWE’s track record is anything to go by, she’ll probably win. Like it or not, Nia is going to be one of Raw’s centerpieces next year.
