10 Problematic WWE Storylines That Have Aged HORRIBLY

8. Hawk, Droz & The End Of An Era

Vince McMahon or Vince Russo or Bruce Prichard or a combination of them had it out for the Legion Of Doom by 1998.

McMahon's warped logic regarding age has more holes than a golf course, but the manner in which Hawk (then 40) and Animal (38) were booked had swathes of the Attitude Era bandwagon-jumpers believing that the iconic Road Warriors had been stolen from a museum and reanimated.

After losing the Tag Team Championships to the New Age Outlaws in late-1997 and failing to win them back on several high profile stages, the team personally and professionally hit the skids. Hawk's real life alcohol and substance abuse issues were mined for content, associate Darren Drozdov was bled in as a painted-up member of the team, and months of uneasy television culminated in Hawk threatening to throw himself off the top of the TitanTron before Droz pushed him while attempting to "save" him.

This was all supposed to make literal what had been going on behind the scenes - Droz was the pusher, supplying Hawk with the drugs and booze while forcing him out of the LOD unit. Not that it would have helped matters, but that detail was never truly explored anyway. Never afraid of knowing their worth, Hawk and Animal disowned the idea nd left the promotion several months later, with a largely forgotten Raw-after-WrestleMania XV defeat against Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart serving as the disparate end to the run.
