10 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About WrestleMania 33
8. You Might Need A Pillow
WrestleMania 32 lasted a shade under seven hours. It was the longest pay-per-view in WWE history, and a chore to get through at times. By the time Shane McMahon vs. Undertaker reached its conclusion, it was hard not to feel drained, particularly as it was followed by The Rock’s 25-minute ring entrance, and the turgid Roman Reigns vs. Triple H main event.
WM32 was overlong and poorly paced, and sadly, all signs point towards the same problems reoccurring this year. WrestleMania 33 is set to run for seven hours again, and while the night’s match count (13 in total) might seem to warrant this, last year’s example shows that it’s very difficult to maintain an audience’s attention for such a marathon.
The live crowd shall be tasked with sitting in the Floridian heat for an absurdly long time, and while this will ease in the evening, Sunday’s forecast is bright and sunny. If you’re watching at home, you’re looking at committing until the small hours of the morning with work/school the next day (spare a thought for British fans, who’ll be awake until 6am), so be prepared to grab a pillow whenever the show hits a lull.
