10 Problems Stone Cold Will Never Admit About WrestleMania 32 Return

3. Texas Death Match In A PG Environment

It is no secret that WWE currently operates under a PG television rating. The show, in every way imaginable, is geared toward families. Kids are the key demographic, a significant shift in focus from the days of Stone Cold flipping the bird, drinking beers and dropping fools with the Stunner. His matches were often bloody brawls that simply no longer fit the mold of what WWE promotes. And with Austin demanding a Texas Death Match with Lesnar if the bout were to even be a remote possibility, the likelihood that it would achieve the brutality and violence of past matches with the same stipulation is nonexistent. So why tease the gimmick bout if it cannot possibly live up to the stipulation? The last thing fans want to see out of a Texas Death Match is a glorified hardcore match the likes of which they see every April at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view. The rarity of the match type would demand something special, something straight out of the Attitude Era and that simply does not go hand-in-hand with the type of company WWE is at this point. Yes, we have seen some leniency out of the promotion regarding Lesnar matches in recent memory but the contest between he and Austin would have to surpass it in terms of sheer, unadulterated violence to such an extent to justify the gimmick that it is simply unfeasible.
