10 Problems With John Cena Vs. The Undertaker At WWE WrestleMania 32
8. The Streak's Over So There's Nothing At Stake
Many of you will have seen How WWE Should Have Booked: Ending The Streak, a video starring our very own Adam Blampied. In it, he talks about how John Cena should have been the man to end Undertaker's undefeated 'Mania streak - turning heel in the process. Predictably, these WrestleMania 32 rumours have brought back the Cena heel turn as a viable storyline. Cue mass excitement as we all imagine Big Match John finally, finally embracing the hate, shaking WWE's foundations and opening up a whole new world of storyline possibilities. In Adam's video, the logic works very well. Few things are dastardly enough to turn a figure as beloved as Cena heel, but breaking the streak is certainly one of them. However, with Taker's undefeated run dead for two whole years, an unscrupulous Cena victory wouldn't carry nearly as much impact. Were WWE to actually go down this route, it's likely that an attempted Cena turn would only partially work - about as well as Austin's did at WrestleMania X-Seven, or Undertaker's weird half-turn in the run-up to the latest SummerSlam PPV. The fans are simply too enamoured with certain superstars to allow a heel turn, and Cena cheating to beat Taker wouldn't change a lot without the streak on the line.
