3. The Matches Don't Mean As Much Anymore
Compare the Cell matches of today with those of the Attitude Era, and a stark contrast is apparent. The quality of wrestling may naturally increase as time goes on, but something has clearly been lost along the way - especially with regard to this particular stipulation. CM Punk vs. Ryback is no Michaels vs. Undertaker, and Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan is no Triple H vs Cactus Jack. However good or bad each individual match may seem in terms of pure in-ring action, the atmosphere and emotion of the more modern matches don't compare at all to their predecessors. They might as well be wrestling an entirely different match type, so vast is the gap in dramatic value. Part of the problem naturally lies with the limitations of the PG era; wrestlers simply can't do as many nasty things to each other these days.
