10 Professional Athletes Vince McMahon Needs To Hire For WWE
2. J.J. Watt (NFL)
A lot of people would like to see Patriots' tight end Rob Gronkowski get involved in the wrestling business, primarily because he's a big guy with a flashy, fascinating off-field persona. But even though The Summer of Gronk seems tailor-made for a WWE storyline, nagging injuries to the Patriots' star player would be cause for concern.
Watt, on the other hand, is in his prime as possibly the most elite defensive end since Reggie White - who coincidentally had his own moment in the sun with the WCW - and has a relatively clean bill of health.
And unlike Gronk, who exudes the kind of bro-centric arrogance/douchiness that was already tried by celeb import Kevin Federline, Watt has that All-American, small town goofiness that would easily get the crowds chanting his name.
It would make sense, on paper at least, to put Watt in the ring against his doppelgänger Brock Lesnar, but you could also throw him in there in a tag match alongside John Cena to help represent that whole "Hustle, Loyalty, Respect" idealism.
Also, any concerns about him "moving like a big man" in the ring were quelled back when he demonstrated his 61" inch vertical jump. Imagine that guy leaping off the top rope...
