The Game returned in mid-2007 after nearly a year on the shelf, and initially it appeared as though he planned to ease back into the main event, first taking on King Booker (in a... King Match?) before turning his attention to Carlito after he joined Vince for an appearance on his Cabana.

It took Triple H just one pay-per-view match to put his opponent away for good, despite the fact that the rules stipulated the latter couldn't be disqualified, and many have suggested it was the final nail in the coffin of Carlito's once promising WWE career.

That thing about easing back into the main event? That didn't happen - Triple H was challenging for the WWE Championship by the next PPV, although to be fair Cena's injury left the company with no real alternative.
