AS: Besides yourself and Shawn, are there any wrestlers right now that you can point to for students to follow who just seem to do everything right, even small things that an average fan aren't going to pick up on?

KA: I'm a huge fan of A.J. Styles. It was Booker T who sort of slowed him down, and said 'here we're going to go out there, and have a match and we're going to use psychology. We're going to work the people and you're going to do those big moves, but you're only going to do them sparingly.'

A.J. said one-time the light bulb just went off. He was sitting out in the ring and he's like, 'oh my god! When people told me to slow down I always thought they were trying to hold me back, because they weren't as athletic as me, and they couldn't do all those moves. But it really was they were trying to get me to slow down so I could get more out of what I was doing.'

I mean, you watch Rey Mysterio when he was in WCW and it was the same thing. Move. Move. Move. Move. He got to WWE and somebody talked to him. He kept doing all those big moves, but when he does them he immediately gets a crowd reaction. He saves it. You go. You tease them with it. You take it away. You tease it. You take it away, and when you finally actually hit the move...it's a huge explosion

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
