4. Why Did Shane Leave?
One of the top news stories of 2016 has been the return of Shane McMahon to WWE. The assumed heir to Vince McMahon left the company in 2009, surprising many and seemingly setting up Stephanie and Triple H as the beneficiaries of Vince's brainchild. Shane's first feud back was with Vince, a program that many thought had more than a hair of truth to it.
Now, Shane is aligned with Stephanie, but it's clear that the Billion-Dollar Princess is biding her time before she turns on her brother. Undoubtedly, their eventual feud and struggle for power will have some fact thrown into the fiction, as well.
Still, we fans don't know the real reasons behind Shane's departure. Though there were rumors that he felt Triple H and Stephanie were attempting to "steal" WWE out from under him, and Vince's reliance on them angered him, that was mostly speculation.
