10 Questions WWE Doesn't Want You To Ask After Survivor Series 2015

8. What Was The Point Of That Tournament Anyway?

The tournament to crown a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion may just be the most pointless thing the WWE has done in a very long while. In their defence, they were obviously left scrambling to come up with new ideas following Seth Rollins' shocking injury, but they would have been much better off putting on another #1 Contender's Fatal 4-Way match than holding this predictable contest. From the very start, it was always obvious that it would come down to Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, and establishing that back in Manchester would have meant that they could have built up a proper story between these two, teasing the prospect of one of them turning heel and, ultimately, surprising fans (much more than they did with that hug of friendship they shared at the end of the match). This would have also freed up midcard champions like Kevin Owens and Alberto Del Rio to actually defend their titles, rather than casting them aside for something clearly much more important. As things stand, this tournament was utterly unnecessary, though the WWE is no doubt hoping we'll all be far too busy discussing Survivor Series' ending rather than asking why they bothered to hold it in the first place!
