It's not been a banner year for Jimmy and Jey Uso despite the pair finally making it onto a WrestleMania card in a way that almost looked like a sad punchline to an even sadder joke.

The samoans were sent into a drab squash against The Bludgeon Brothers (with The New Day also cast as also-rans) within minutes of Ronda Rousey's expertly-engineered debut match blowing the roof off of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. It most likely wasn't the "moment" they'd craved, but was at least validation for the amazing year they'd had on the main roster up to that point.

The dispiriting beating they received foreshadowed their total demise following the feud. Despite trying to sneak into the Extreme Rules tag team title match, they lost yet again to Daniel Bryan and Kane, removing them yet again from any sort of meaningful programme despite sharing SmackDown Live! with a duo that gave them one of their finest matches of 2017.

Though Sheamus is apparently currently struggling with some lingering injuries from the impactful style he's worked over the past few years, 'The Celtic Warrior' and 'The Swiss Superman' have otherwise been saddled with pancake patter only since migrating to Tuesdays. A feud - as soon as possible - with Jimmy and Jey would afford all four a long hot summer.
