10 Quickest WWE Money In The Bank Cash-Ins
3. Edge (2007) – 1 Day*
*Mr. Kennedy won the briefcase and held it for 36 days before losing it to Edge.
Some nicknames are bestowed upon superstars with no regard for whether they fit. With Edge, the Ultimate Opportunist fit perfectly. As the first Money in the Bank briefcase holder, he was the first wrestler to take advantage of the stipulation that you can cash in at any time, waiting 280 days before beating a worn-out John Cena at New Year’s Revolution in 2006.
But in 2007, Edge solidified his nickname when he goaded Mr. Kennedy, who had won the briefcase at WrestleMania 23 five weeks earlier, into putting the briefcase on the line. The “match” lasted all of seven seconds, with Edge assaulting Kennedy on the latter’s way down the ramp before the bell had rung. In reality, Kennedy was injured and the decision was made to take the briefcase off him.
The next night, Edge cashed in his newly won briefcase on The Undertaker, who had been laid out by Mark Henry. And thus, Edge’s title as the Ultimate Opportunist was etched in stone. Unfortunately, his title run would last a little more than two months before a torn pectoral muscle forced him to surrender the World Heavyweight Championship.
