10 Radical Ideas That Could Save WWE's Tag Division

6. Stop Placing Tag Stars Into Singles Matches

And here€™s another whiteboard edict for WWE€™s creative team: No more tag stars to be booked, ever in singles competition. It makes no sense for one half of a legitimate tag team to accompany the other half to the ring as a glorified valet while the competing half pretends he€™s a singles wrestler. These guys are tag specialists for a reason. Tag team wrestlers should always wrestle in tag teams: it€™s why they€™re there, and it€™s the match the crowd expects them to compete in. If they€™re booked in a singles competition, you can€™t blame the crowd for thinking of them as singles performers slumming it in the tag team division: again, it hurts the brand. And why place a tag team partner in a position whereby he runs the risk of being disqualified if he wants to deliver any of the tag-style double team moves or combinations that exist to get him over?
