10 Random Acts Of Wrestling Violence You Totally Forgot About

1. Take Show Out To The Ball Game

Big Show Undertaker
WWE

It's 1999 WWE and everything is happening because as evidenced in The Rock/British Bulldog match from around the same time, people will literally watch any old sh*t by that point.

That's not to say the product wasn't exceptional in places, nor to imply that the astronomical money punters were pumping into Vince McMahon's thriving empire weren't being rewarded with bucketloads of top quality content. More to make it clear that this attitude (and, indeed "Attitude") bred an awful lot of nonsense too. And most of it orbited around The Undertaker.

Really, 'The Deadman' was struggling to find his place amidst the fire and fury of Stone Cold Steve Austin, the red hot humour of The Rock and grizzled determination of Mankind. The Ministry Of Darkness was goth nonsense. The Corporate Ministry was business goth nonsense. His tag team with The Big Show was making-a-coat-out-of-your-skin nonsense...but at least that was born out of a mutual respect from the lesser-spotted baseball bat nonsense.

Undertaker, Lord Of Darkness, Reaper Of Mortal Souls and all that decided to swing a baseball bat across the head of Paul Wight instead of using all the magical powers or 18 f*cking goons in his stable. It looked amazing, it got forum fans tugging themselves raw over a Sting match, but it was just another forgotten bit of silliness from a year full-to-bursting on it.
