10 Random Acts Of Wrestling Violence You Totally Forgot About

6. To Have And To Hold

ECW wasn't always the ultra-violent promotion some revisionism would have you believe. But when many of their mid-90s concepts had been poached by late-90s WWE, efforts to escalate the aggression sometimes went beyond the pale.

Despite fleeting experiences of in-ring physicality during her brief ECW tenures alongside The Sandman, Lori Fullington showed unbelievable guts when a return to her husband's side resulted in her incurring the wrath of the deranged Rhino. She began accompanying him into battle at her peril, having already suffered a devastating Gore through a table from 'The Manbeast' to build to this Hardcore Heaven scorcher.

With a Hardcore Heaven 2000 crowd barely ten minutes removed from a frightening blood-soaked war between Tajiri and Steve Corino (more on that later), management decided to allow Fullington and Rhino to raise the bar even higher in the following match, resulting in the frightening sight of him piledriving her through a table on the (completely unprotected) arena floor from the apron.

A move virtually never attempted due to the enormous potential risk, it proved even more shocking due to Rhino's relative inexperience at the time and the physical disparity between him and his diminutive victim.
